CESA condemns the news item posted in the SEN times ‘Corruption
Flourishes In HotHouse Of Indian Customs And Central Excise Service’. On
08.12.2014. The long story appears to be
written by some of the disgruntled elements, just to tarnish the image of the
department. CESA
can say that this is a story similar to that of five blind men describing an
elephant. The said item appears
to be written with an ulterior motive. Corruption or nexus flourishes under
patronage. But no one dares to raise
their finger on the patrons.
There
are many officers in the department whose integrity is above board and have
forgone and sacrificed everything and dedicated their entire career to this
department. Nobody ever remembers the
services and efforts of these officers. Such
articles definitely disturb and demoralise them and similar officers.
SEN times is a well reputed site
followed by several govt. officials. Editor
may please double check the contents of any such news item before putting it on
site.
CESA appeals to the editor of the SEN
times ‘not to tarnish the image of the department for few incidents or experience
witnessed by one or few individuals’.
