Once
upon a time, an employee of the Govt. organization was an asset to the nation,
who took upon the responsibility to ensure that the goals of the organization and
that of the nation are met through their hard work. With the passage of time, a
systematic & malicious campaigning against the Govt. employee was
initiated, with an intention to promote privatization & contract system in
Govt. organizations. Thereafter, came the slow erosion of rights, privileges
and facilities, especially at the lower levels, with the intention to
de-motivate and humiliate them. However, there was great expectations from the
7th Pay Commission, but their observations and submissions, as
compared to the last 6 pay commissions, are the lowest and appears to be mere rhetoric
than reality.
The
Bar Association of High Court and all districts of Telengana State, alongwith
the Telengana Advocate JAC, Telengana Judges Association, State Judicial
Employee Association and Telegana Law Officers’ Association have decided to
abstain from work for seven days from 13-June-2016. This stir is expected to
adversely affect the functioning of the courts. Judicial employees would apply
for mass casual leave and the protestors will wear black badges during lunch
recess in the coming days.
This
is the first time in the history of independent India that even the Judges have
given a strike call over the delay in the bifurcation of the High Court of
erstwhile Andhra Pradesh and other related issues.
Now
coming to the 7th CPC recommendations and the subsequent formation
of the Empowered Committee of Secretaries for its implementation, it has been
decided by the Central government employees to go on an indefinite strike from
July 11, for which they will serve strike notices to their respective
departments on June 9.
The organizations of the Central Government Employees includes –
Railways, Defence, Postal, Income Tax, Customs, Central Excise & Service
Tax etc – whose number is over 32 lakh, have taken unanimous decision on 3 June
2016 to go on indefinite strike from 11 July 2016,” NFIR said in a statement.
It is expected that in the month of June, the Empowered Committee of
Secretaries will submit its report to the Govt. of India and thereafter, its
recommendations after Cabinet approval, will be implemented from 01-July-2016.
If situation compels and the circumstances are not favourable, then we
do not have any other option except lodging our protests by mass participation
in the agitation.
