FM    CLEARED    THE     PROPOSAL

On 12.04.2013 evening the Hon’ble Finance Minister signed the proposal of Cadre restructuring submitted by the Board. 

Present Group A post is 2485. Board proposed 4896.

FM approved 4668 (after cut of 228 posts) inclusive of reserved posts. 

It will take some more time to route the said proposal from group of Secretaries to Cabinet. 

Board is preparing a note for approval for Committee of Secretaries.  Then the said proposal will move to the Group of Ministers and thereafter, for approval of the Cabinet. 

The Committee of Secretaries comprises of 1. Cabinet Secretary 2. Secretary, DOPT 3. Revenue Secretary 4. Expenditure Secretary and 5. Chairman, CBEC.  The said proposal has already passed through three authorities mentioned at Sl. Nos. 3, 4 and 5 of the Committee of Secretaries.   

The proposal of the Cadre Restructuring of the CBDT has already passed through the Committee of Secretaries and is now pending with the Group of Ministers.

We hope that by the end of this month it will be cleared by the Group of Secretaries and will go to Group of Ministers, then simultaneously both the proposals of CBEC and CBDT will be placed before the CABINET for final approval & implementation.
