On 09.06.2017, the Rotation
orders of ACs/DCs from Central Excise to Customs and from Customs to Central
Excise was issued.
59 ACs/DCs from Customs
transferred to Central Excise / Service Tax and 119 officers from Central Excise /
Service Tax to Customs.
CESA Mumbai represented to the Mumbai Administrations and also met the respective authorities. The
representation made by us was duly recognised and fair treatment was done towards officers who have completed 2 years, in any one of the formations (Customs / Central Excise / Service Tax) on a Order to Order basis, were
rotated. Those who were due for retirement up to June-2018 were retained. There
were doubts and apprehensions, that on the pretext of GST training, officers from both
sides may not be disturbed, but the Administration has taken not only a just and fair view but also there was no show of any favour. They have adopted
a single parameter for one and all.
Our officers from Central
Excise / Service Tax are extremely happy and jubilant and expressed their thanks
to CESA Mumbai for timely action and representation.
CESA Mumbai passed on the
same to the Chief Commissioners, Shri Rajiv Tandon, Chief Commissioner,
Customs and to Shri S. C. Varshney, Chief Commissioner, Central Excise,Shri Piush Patanaik,Chief Commissioner Service Tax that
this is one of the best Rotation Orders of Mumbai Zone. You all deserve due appreciation
that this Order is an impartial and a transparent one.
Action speaks and silences
others, CESA Mumbai cares for our members. This order is the best example.
